The Barn Dance with Hot Supper at the Community Centre on Saturday 22nd October in aid of the charity Help for Heroes went very well & everyone attending had an enjoyable evening. There was lots of dancing to Grandma’s YoYo Barn Dance Band. The Caller was Don Rouse & he had everyone up on the dance floor having a great time.
We are extremely pleased to report that we donated £1368.11 to the Help for Heroes charity from money raised by the barn dance evening & raffle ticket sales. The amount sent also included donations from Carterton Lions & Carterton U3A.
We have since received a thank you letter from Help for Heroes who were very appreciative of the donation. The money will go towards their next project which is to deliver the Defence Recovery Capability (DRC) . This will be a comprehensive pathway to help the wounded back into the next phase of their lives. H4H are working in partnership with the MOD & RBL on this new project.
